YWCA Palestine concludes a training on monitoring and documenting gender-based violations
Jericho-YWCA Palestine concluded a training course
on monitoring and documenting gender-based violations to support advocacy
issues at national, regional and international levels as part of the Young
Women's Awareness, Agency, Advocacy, and Accountability Programme (YW4A).
Staff and members from local partner institutions and young
women's reference group participated in the three-day course, which was led by
monitoring and documentation specialist Alaa Badarneh. The goal was to increase
the participants' capacity to effectively and persuasively advocate for women's
issues while also enhancing the capacity of partner institutions to monitor and
document violations and incorporate this information into global advocacy
strategies.
The YW4A is one of YWCA Palestine's strategic
programs, implemented in collaboration with a number of local, regional, and
international partners.
YW4A’s strategic objective is to defend and expand the
fulfilment of young women’s rights to dignity, bodily integrity, and equal
participation in decision-making, through the implementation of gender-just
policies and laws.
YWCA Palestine implements (YW4A) programme, in
cooperation with the East Jerusalem YWCA, the Psychosocial Counseling Center
for Women (PSCCW), Al-Harah Theatre, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
Jordan and the Holy Land.
YW4A is a five-year program, funded by the Netherlands
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and led by consortium partner World Young Women’s
Christian Association (World YWCA), working in collaboration with YWCA Kenya,
YWCA Palestine, Christian Agency For Peace And Development (CAPaD)- South
Sudan, and Ibrahimia Media Center (IMC), Equality Now, KIT Royal Tropical
