YWCA Palestine concludes the training program for the third cohort of the "She Leads" Academy
Ramallah- YWCA Palestine concluded
the training program for the third cohort of the Leadership Academy for Young
Women, "She Leads", with the participation of 23 young women from the
age group of 23-30 years, from various governorates of the West Bank, including
Jerusalem, as part of accumulating the success achieved in the first cohort in
2022 and the second in 2023.
The academy aims to empower young
women to become active participants and contributors to the Palestinian society
and develop their knowledge and understanding of concepts relating to contemporary
social issues, political participation and leadership.
It also works to assess needs and
analyze obstacles in policies and programs concerning youth leadership, enhance
skills, and strengthen connections with governmental and non-governmental
opportunities for young women through organizing training courses and dialogues
with institutions.
The academy was developed as part
of the program for youth political and civic participation in Palestine (Youth
Leads), implemented by the UNFPA and funded by the European Union.
YWCA Palestine received more than
200 applications from young women wishing to participate in the third cohort of
the academy. 23 participants were selected according to specific criteria.
The training program was implemented
under the supervision of a group of experts and specialists with the aim of
building the participants’ capabilities in leadership and providing them with
various necessary skills.
The academy program includes,
networking visits and exchange meetings to build connections, as well as expert
lectures on topics related to leadership, excellence and entrepreneurship at
the local and international levels. Participants also have the opportunity to
develop ideas for community initiatives, participate in study tours, attend knowledge
transfer workshops, and receive job training.
The academy extends for a period of six months, from June to November 2024, with a total of 200 hours.
