YWCA Palestine Organizes a Workshop around the "Rise Up!" Manual within YW4A
The YWCA of Palestine, within "YW4A" project "Young Women for Awareness, Agency, Advocacy, and Accountability", organized a workshop for the project coordinators from the local partner organizations, namely the Psycho- Social Counselling Center for Women, Women Media & Development (TAM), Al-Harah Theater, Stars of Hope Society, and YWCA Jerusalem, and a group of young women from the project target areas, specifically Salfit, Ramallah and Al Bireh, Jerusalem, Gaza, Bethlehem, and Hebron.
The workshop included a discussion of the "Rise Up!" manual, a guide for young women’s transformative leadership, and its adaptation within the Palestinian context, in terms of content, language, methodology, and the issues that the project will address over five years to promote the participation of young women and raise their voices to influence decision-making towards policies and laws that combat discriminatory practices against women and ensure their physical safety and political participation.
The participants also discussed the mechanism to develop a training plan for young women in a participatory manner, and identify the actual needs in the project target areas using the manual to support young women leaders.
