Vera Pano holds a BA in Nursing and Higher Diploma in Clinical Supervision from Bethlehem University. She also holds a Higher Diploma in Primary Health Care from Birzeit University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Management, from Al-Quds University. She as well has several training certificates related to Nursing and Public Health and Social Science. She has participated in several workshops related to gender and social issues. Pano started her career as a Senior Nurse in 1984 at Caritas Hospital serving for 2 months then worked at Augusta Victoria Hospital untill1988. later, she worked as a Nursing Supervisor in the public clinics of the Ministry of Health in Jericho until 1991 and moved to work at UNRWA as a Nursing and Health Education Supervisor until July 2020. Pano joined the YWCA in Jericho in 1987 as a member of the General Assembly and currently serves as its Board President. She participated in the World YWCA Council meeting in Brisbane, Australia in 2003, a workshop on HIV Aids in Cairo in 2006, Representing
YWCA Palestine through a visit and meetings on Education’s situation at schools in Oslo in January 2010 and CSW62 in New York in 2018 . Also attended several local conferences and workshops on woman and youth issues. She is a Board Treasurer of the YWCA of Palestine as well as Juzoor for Health and Social Development Association.
It is worth to mention that since Ms. Pano had started her Volunteer work at YWCA and Juzoor Associations, she continued until now and is highly committed to, and appreciates it and encourages other youths and adults to join volunteer activities especially at YWCA as she is proud to be one of its members and tries always keeping the spirit of the YWCA‘s love, cooperation, loyalty, Woman empowerment through her faith in the association’s mission and vision towards our local Society.
